Boiler Performance and Efficiency

Here it is again.. Im back with another problem to solve. Ever since i joined the company, I have been learning so much that sometimes I feel overwhelmed. During my days in University, subjects like thermodynamics, heat transfer and etc are no alien to me more so that I major in thermal engineering.

So i'm handed with this task and I have taken the initiative to blog it down. I think this is a great motivation in allowing me to log in with my progress and not being lost each time I thought of the solution to the problem. This would be my first blog post for this project.

Let's start. 

So the boilers that im working on is a water type boilers. Which means it will have water in the tubes and gets heated up by the flue gas coming from the exhaust of the gas turbines. Thus, this is how far i have come about with the formulas.

 

The thing is that i have quite lacking in this department. What does constant pressure (Cp) affect to the heat equation? Let's find out shall we.

Week 20

Well well well..looks like time really has fly real quick and it was great.In matters of just weeks, I would be on my way to receive my results as to fully officiate me as a graduate engineer.

This blog was suppose to track my time and my journey as to how I'm progressing through my final year project and looks like it got out of my mind to blog. Ah the lazy 'ol me again

Nevertheless, this blog post is to show that I actually did it. I did not just finish it greatly but I also got chosen to join the final year project competition

Well I do hope that I would be able to finish all of the work to decorate my booth during the presentation. Though I think that my project might not be that significant, at least I have tried. :)

Week 1

I have finally started my final semester of my degree course. What a journey it has been. The path where i obtain that scroll was filled with so much adventure. Be it good or bad. It was an experience that would make me never to regret over my lifetime. The phase to adulthood has creeping in ever so quickly and yet I felt no change in the way I act or the way I lead my life.

So should I really get something going? Like a vision or a “What do I see in myself in 10 years time” scheme? Or am I worrying way over the top?

Many have questioned me on how am I going to be when I leave the doorstep of my childhood. Honestly speaking, I am a little afraid of what is going to happen in the next few years. Having a such bleak imagination of what is going to happen gives me a certain chills that I don’t usually have. Well, at least this is at least keeping me sane for now.

Going through life as how it goes may come as an excuse of not looking forward or being afraid to accept the fact that you need to be the way it is. God will always being in there for you to be a light (or at least what everyone say it would be). So will you allow HIM to take control?

 

Honestly, what you got to lose? That’s the only think you could hang on to. He knows your future when no one knows or at least “predict or assume” to know. But the fact to tell everyone or to your loved ones that you do not have a plan but to trust HIM only is nonsensical but yet utter true!!

Well am i explaining about faith or something else that I was actually talking about? I did post a similar writing in which I was contemplating on the course or the suitable University that I should go and look how far has it brought me to. I’m still well and once again going back into a loop where I hesitate to take another step of faith. Because I think when the age catches up, each step takes a bigger load. But does it have to be like that every time?

Project 101

Here we go, my last and biggest project for the 5 years i have been in the school of engineering. It would be a full fledged simulation project which would assist in the future of automobile. The electric vehicle which was found to be useless when Thomas Edison first invented it to monopolize over the automotive industry which was dominated by combustible engines. 

After years of the dependence on fossil fuel, finally the resources has exhausted and what damages it has done to mother earth. The use of fossil fuel must come to an end and a greener and cleaner future has to be done immediately for a brighter future for our generation

Electric car finally has the potential to give a run for his money as the future of the automotive industry will finally go through a new phase. A electric which produces nothing but a slight heat and no toxic gases will in fact be a great replacement over the ICE vehicle. 

Problem is, the technology is still new, and engineers are still finding ways to fix and to improve electric vehicles. So what are the major issues faced by what we would see be a great alternative energy? HEAT.

Heat is the primary source of all issue. Decreasing battery life and maybe damaging components in the vehicle. AND RANGE. Because of the heat that was produced by the batteries, range coming from the batteries greatly reduced due to the heat.

The initiation

Ideas are like gifts given by God and by no means a skill or talent to be able to harness the ideas into a reality. Just like Facebook, Microsoft, or maybe even just a simple tool that changes how we think of life. So how are you going to make them into a reality? THAT is the big question and for us to find out.
